Written in a clear, flowing style that is accented by many of her own beautiful, full-color photographs, Angel Sher Victoria's book is the cathartic end product of much personal pain and suffering. These pages detail the loss of family members to cancer, the suffering that visited both victims and survivors, and the author's own battles with health problems. Throughout even the darkest times, she is aware of a higher power in her life.
"I have never lost faith in God - Not in his purpose for me in his plan," she explains. "I crawled with my cross for six years, being tested for everything from COPD to Multiple Sclerosis... I lost my loved ones... I realized it was in God's plans that I was to walk them each into God's hands, and I did for each one of them."
The following excerpt from her poem, "The Heart Of A Young Warrior," which is dedicated to her late brother, illustrates Angel Sher Victoria's heartwarming verse: ...you proudly fight the battle, above all honor is your fight...for you know the war goes on a lifetime. There is a place within your homeland, where your queen and princess have named you a hero and the stripes of honor have been placed forever upon the heart of you, young warrior.
"I hope to inspire others to share their journey," writes Victoria. "We walk through this earth just once and we should leave our stories for others, for inspiration when they cannot find hope or feel alone."
"Sharing Life's Journey" is a moving testament to the strength of one woman's faith in the face of adversity and the faith she now shares with others.
Angel Sher Victoria lives in New Jersey. She was at her husband's bedside when he lost his battle with cancer in 2001. Then in 2002, she says she saw the light of God herself only to lose her younger brother to the same disease in April 2006. "through unrelenting tribulations, trials and darkness, a voice told me that I am not alone. The Lord, my God gave me a second chance. He said to share my journey," she says. This is her first book.
"Inspiring poetry and full color photos I took myself of nature; horses, birds, flowers, sunsets, to share life’s journey so that you may find PEACE in all your tribulations and pain and you can relate to cancer victims, cerebral palsy, God, Love and death in a way that God would want you to with peace and love in your heart, share that love. Maybe you may have a journey you wish to share, it almost becomes a biography as well- but it is shared as Jesus shared his life on a scroll."
